DEVELOPING DisINTEGRATED YOUTH SUPPORT IN CAMBRIDGESHIRE

Cambridgeshire County Council are consulting on youth support services that may no longer be provided such as some open access youth clubs, some universal services to young people by Connexions, ( e.g. 1:1 careers advice and guidance ), activities not targeted on vulnerable groups, open access holiday provision.   This will affect all young people in Cambridgeshire as well as Connexions and Youth Workers.   If the proposals go ahead it may also fail to meet the some statutory duties the council must fulfil.

We the undersigned are extremely concerned with the threat to withdraw universal youth provision to young people in Cambridgeshire and open access youth provision may no longer be provided by the County Council.   We call upon the council to reconsider these decisions to meet the statutory requirement by making Connexions and youth service provision universal and readily accessible in all our communities.
